Kerry Washington and O.P.I...

They made beautiful babies...

So, when I heard of my favourite show, actor and product coming together to create something... I had to try it.

Kerry Washington, star of Scandal (fave show) and O.P.I have collabed to create some powerful and scandalous colours.

They officially hit shops (and the internet) on Thursday and immediately ordered from Beauty Bay.

You can try three or four of them for £8.50 or £11.50... not too bad for good quality nail varnishes. Individual (15ml) bottles cost £9.50 each, so not exactly cheap.

I decided to pick up quite a few and I'm slowly making my way through them, but for now, I'll reveal the colours I chose.

4 set- £11.50

This has some really lovely colours for you to try! I especially love the yellow, as I think it is pretty daring. Though, that blue is to die for.

We The Female.

We The Female-
You're hereby authorised to wear this empowering garnet.

This is a beautiful deep red colour which screams sophistication. I love how it isn't too dark but still has the deep edge to it... that probably didn't make sense.

Washington seems to be wearing the same colour on the packaging, so I guess we can all pretend we're as stylish as she is.

A perfect colour for Autumn and winter, but still could be rocked in Summer.

Pale to the Chief

Pale to the Chief-
So nearly nude, it's almost scandalous.

I love how the description gives  a nod to the show Kerry stars in.

I love how this colour is 'almost' nude, but not quite there. It has a lovely glint to it.

I see it as an almost sort of pearl colour with a light brown back to it.

CIA= Colour is Awesome

CIA= Colour is Awesome
A smart, dusky blue for secret agent fashionistas.

I normally don't wear blue colours on my nails but I love this blue.

I think it has that feel of sophistication but also a fun nail colour to rock whenever you want.

I will probably buy this in a full bottle if I love it!

Never a Dulles Moment

Never a Dulles Moment-
A curry yellow seen on airport and fashion week runways.

This is a beautiful colour and so perfect for Summer. If you follow me on Instagram, then you may have seen I received a liquid lipstick in this colour.

This kind of yellow is certainly bold but I think anyone can wear this colour. It screams bright and bold, which is perfect.

3 Set- £8.50

Inside the ISABELLEtway
Inside the ISABELLEtway-
Washington's movers-and-shakers vie for this caramel crème.

A lovely brown colour with a caramel shine to it. I've tried this on my toenails and think it is fab.

It goes onto the nail well and only need one coat to create a good colour, but I obviously applied two.

Not too thick and leaves a lovely feel on the nails when they are dry.

For anyone who worries this will wash them out, it really won't.

Kerry Blossom
5/5 (tried it and love it).

Kerry Blossom-
Accomplished stateswomen love this plum with capital flair.

This is a beautiful colour for Autumn. Not quite the usual purple colour you see, but a lovely deep and warm colour.

I'm not someone to wear pink or purple colours on my nails, but this one will definitely be something I'm excited to try!

I think it is a lovely colour.

"Liv" in the Gray

 "Liv" in the Gray
This edgy, sophisticated dark gray makes a strong federal case.

I swear this also nods to Scandal, with the main character being named Olivia. However, I would love it whatever they called it.

I love grey colours and this is beautiful. I had one like this from Barry M, so I'm really excited to try this.

Individual Bottles (15ml) - £9.50

Stay Off the Lawn!

Stay Off the Lawn!
Don't trespass on this deep, lush green.

What more can I say? This is a stunning colour which I am currently (as I type this) wearing on my nails.

It was quite thick to apply, but maybe that is because I applied the colour whilst sat in the sun.

Nonetheless, I love this green so much!

Freedom of Peach.

Freedom of Peach-
Wearing this creamy peach is your fashion right.

I am a real lover of peachy nail colours. I think they can be worn whenever and make perfect nudes colours if you don't want to wear a total nude polish.

This colour is so beautiful and I am a fan of how bold it is. Some peach colours can be a bit bland and boring, but not this.

Thanks so much for reading!

I will review these products soon when I've worn them all.

See you soon- Rachel <3

NYX Reviews!

Lipstick, eyeliner, and lipliner.

You may remember a little haul I had a week ago and I decided to try them all out.

Most of the products I love for the price, but I think one needs working on.

Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick £6.50

I was really excited to try these as I usually buy Jeffree Star liquid lipsticks, but these looked pretty cool.. and cheaper. I can see why Jeffree Star is still my preferred liquid lipstick.

LSCL 10 Amethyst-

In my haul post, I really raved about this colour. I said how much I loved the way it looked and how different it seems. Though, from the pictures you can probably see that it leaves much to be desired. It seems kind of bitty and sticky to me... it left sort of clumps on my lips.  It didn't really give any good coverage, as you can see, and I just don't really like it.

Maybe you have to work to get it how you want it to look on your lips. Though, I'd expect it to be easier to apply... but maybe this is the kind of product you get for this price.

Rating- 3/5  (trying to like it, it is a lovely colour)

LSCL 11 Kitten Heels-

Wow!
I really really like this. I was looking for that sort of bright red lipstick which wasn't too dark... and I found it. As you can see, it provides excellent covered, slides on easily and looks pretty good on your lips. It felt amazing when I was wearing it, but I'd advise you line your lips before with this... it can get kind of messy.

I don't understand how these liquid suedes can be so far apart but this one is one of my new favourite red lipsticks. It is pretty perfect!

Rating 5/5 (absolutely adore this!)

Intense Butter Gloss £5.50 - Toasted Marshmallow

This is the best of the lip products I bought. I love it so so so much.

It is so moisturising but beautiful at the same time. I received a few compliment when wearing this for the first time.

When I applied it I thought 'Oh wow, I look like Maleficent'. Though, I grew comfortable wearing it... plus, I realised that you might as well wear whatever you want to wear...

Additionally, it isn't too sticky and sits wonderfully on the lips. It doesn't wear off too easily.

One of the BEST lipglosses I have ever worn...

Ditch the lipstick suede and buy the cheaper intense butter gloss!

100/5 (LOVE IT)

Slide On Lip Pencil £5.50- Summer Tease

This goes on so easily and is ridiculously easy to apply. I love the crayon kind of feel it has.. rather than that 'sharp' pencil look.

It is a gorgeous colour and it blends well with lipsticks etc I put with it.

I still believe this may not be an everyday colour but I think it is perfect for summer!

5/5 (it is a great lip pencil)

Slide on Pencil £5.00- Golden Olive

1st Swatch.
1st Swatch.
All I can say is that this eyeliner is amazing to wear. It provides a soft colour to wear when you don't want dark eyes... but want eyeliner to shape your eyes.

How I wore it.
How I wore it.
Again, it is pretty soft and you don't need much to create a lovely line on your eyes. I only swept it along my lid once and it left a brilliant pop of colour. I also received a compliment about how it was green and gold, which made it pretty unique.

I used it the other day to create a beautiful eye look. I added browns and soft colours, with the eyeliner as the star of the show.
5/5 (perfect!)

Studio Perfect Primer £10.00- Green

This is a strange primer...

Before I shook it up, I tried a bit and some oil leaked out of it. I then realise how oily it could be.

You only need a tiny tiny bit on your face, or you will look like you've thrown a deep fat fryer on there.

I'm still wondering about this, but first impressions aren't exactly promising.
It reminds me of guacamole... maybe a bad thing?

2/5 (not a fan... yet)

Thanks for reading! Have a great week, Rachel <3

NYX Haul & Face Masks.

August 3rd 2016

I had a teeny little haul of NYX and some new face masks to try out.
An impromptu trip to the Trafford Centre meant that I couldn't resist checking out the new NYX range in Selfridges.

Admittedly, I have tried out NYX twice and I think they were both crazy lipsticks I bought from eBay. I don't think I've worn them very often.

I have been looking for a new lip pencil, some new lip colours and a primer- and I found just what I was looking for. I'm pretty excited to really try these new products but, for now, I'll leave you with a breakdown of what I bought.

Lip Products

Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick £6.50

I really love liquid lipsticks (as you'd be able to tell by my JeffreeStar collection) and I'm not someone to shy away from weird and wacky colours.

The two colours I picked up appealed to me most and looked good when swatched on my skin.

LSCL 10 Amethyst- A bold colour but looks lovely on the lips! I tried it on the night I bought it and I absolutely adored it.

It may be too dark for some people but there is a lighter lilac shade, which may be for you if this  shade scares you.

LSCL 11 Kitten Heels- Everyone needs a staple red lipstick in their life. I always shy away from them given the size of my lips but I thought I'd go for it. I seem to have darker reds or brighter sort of reds, but nothing that sits inbetween. This colour is so nice on.

Intense Butter Gloss £5.50 - Toasted Marshmallow

Okay, can we first talk about the smell of this product? It smells like sweet and warm buttery goodness... and I really wanted to eat it off my lips.

I'm not normally a fan of lip gloss but this one is beautiful on the lips. It might be too dark for some people but for me I adore it.

Beware, a little goes a long way and it is *intense* as it says on the product.

I tried it on my lips and here is a little picture.

Order- LSCL 10, LSCL 11 and Toasted Marshmallow Intense Butter Gloss.

Slide On Lip Pencil £5.50- Summer Tease
I've been looking for a lip pencil for a while and I think I found one which kind of matches my shade, but is also a nice summer colour.

I've yet to try it on my lips but the swatch can provide a glimpse into what it is like.

I found it smooth and that only one swipe provided a highly pigmented line.

Order- Golden Olive Eyeliner then Summer Tease Lipliner.

Eyes

Slide on Pencil £5.00- Golden Olive

I just think this eyeliner is beautiful and fun! A great touch of colour to your lids for on holiday when you don't feel like applying much makeup.

I like that it has a green tinge but it is gold as well, so not your average gold colour... if you understand that?

Only one problem was the top of the pencil snapped off when I tried to swatch it, so I lost a little product.

Misc

Studio Perfect Primer £10.00- Green

I have been looking for some kind of *better* primer than the one I use now, and I spotted this one.

I have quite a few red areas on my face such as my t-zone and random spots that appear every now and then. I didn't find it expensive for how big the bottle is and can't wait to review this.

Nügg Face Masks £13.00- 4-pac

I'm always a fan of a face mask but I rarely know what to use. I like to use Lush ones now and then but I'm trying to broaden what I use.

I thought this 4 pack provided me with a selection of some face masks to try.

I fall for the aestethic of products a lot
and these were so neatly lined up.

That is it for now! Have a great Wednesday.

Comment below what products you have tried here or want to try.

Impulsable!

Impulsable.com

I want to take 5 minutes out of my day to mention this great new little shop!

I'm trying to move towards fashion, which some of you may have seen on my Instagram, and I think this shop has some excellent pieces for you to purchase.

They do free worldwide shipping and their items are pretty cheap for what your buying.

I thought I'd list some of my favourites.

Deep Blue Bikini - £18.

Have you seen those expensive bikinis that are block colours? They always have added support, because the last thing you want is *something* falling out when you're cruising down that water slide.

I always look for bikinis that aren't too small or too thin, but this one looks perfect!

The colour will suit anyone and the shape could fit any type of body.

At £18 you can hardly complain.

Retro High Waist Swimsuit- £20.

Don't we all love a high waist swimsuit?

It holds everything in and makes you feel absolutely fabulous.

The colours are pretty neutral, so again it would suit any type of person.

I love myself a high waist bikini or swimsuit, and I will definitely be purchasing this!

T-Shirts!

All I can say is that these t-shirts are perfect, will go great with jeans for a comfy day and are all round sassy. I chose some of my favourites for you guys to see.

Tits T-Shirt- £16
I Speak Sarcasm T-Shirt- £12

Eyelash T-Shirt- £10

One last favourite!

I absolutely adore a playsuit and this one really made me wow.

It is hard to come by a playsuit which is good quality but cheap at the same time. I've purchased them for sometimes £40 in the past.

Floral Jumpsuit- £20.

I hope one or two of these has caught your eye but why don't you take a look here at some of the products.

Touring The New LUSH Arndale Store in Manchester!

A Break Down of What Happened!

When I first entered the shop all I could think was how much it looked like Lush Oxford Street. It was renovated beautifully and I think they have made this shop great. The feel of the shop isn't as hustle and bustle anymore as there is room to move around, opposed to the smaller shop they used to have.

There are clear areas you should go to for certain products and every member of staff seemed extremely inviting.

Firstly, I was greeted by a lovely member of staff who told me I could take any pictures, ask anything and look around everything in the shop! It was great to meet some people who knew my Instagram and even better someone who followed me before I even started my tour.

We first started by looking at the new Fathers Day range. Due to my circumstances at the moment, I haven't been able to see the new range yet, but she made sure I smelled everything. I have to say I love Smugglers Soul and found the new range fab.

She popped the SuperDad bath bomb into the water for us to watch and the colours were so different to any other bath bomb. I loved the way it slowly swirled around the water.

Then I was showed the other products such as Smugglers Soul multi-purpose cream which I picked  a pot up of at the end of my tour!

I was then directed to their new soap counter. It looks just like a deli counter and the soap is weighed at the counter. My favourite from Oxford Street was Sea Salter Caramel and I was ecstatic that they were selling that in the Arndale store.

I then was shown the other sections such as shower gel, bubble bars, bath bombs etc. And I loved the way it was all laid out!

I loved how they had clearly marked every section and it had a modern lay out, which was vaguely similar to Lush.

We stopped at the massage bar section and I mentioned that Wiccy Magic was one of my all time favourites!

It helps with my chronic pain and I was showed the aduki beans and the cinnamon which they put in it, to give it that warming feeling when used on the skin.

Having the Aduki beans on show is a great sensory experience for everyone! They can see and even touch what goes into their Lush products. It adds to the excellent customer service Lush always manages to provide to their customers.

We stopped at the perfume section and I was amazed by all the perfumes they had! There are so many now and they are so colourful.

I spent such a long time just taking in the shop as a whole and the perfume section was no exception.

They glinted and glistened and I had no idea what to pick up.

I noticed one of my favourite scents, Karma, but admitted I hadn't try many of the regular line Lush perfumes.

I love 1000 Kisses Deep which shares its scent with Beautiful shower gel and Superworld Unknown which is a sweet but crisp and deep scent.

It was suggested I try Lust, which I kind of liked, however the scent was quite strong to me.

I could picture China and all the beautiful spices mixed with a floral scent when I smelled it.

I found picturing what you could smell was really helpful and a great way to try perfumes. I also found out that you shouldn't rub perfume but 'dab' it, as rubbing can destroy the top layer of it.

We then took a trip to the makeup section, which I was very excited to try!

The amount of makeup was amazing and I was showed every product, and my hand was covered in swatches.

I was extremely excited to try the eyeshadows and my favourite is Sophisticated. It was lovely brown colour but seemed gold and beautiful at the same time.

I tried another really pigmented golden eye colour but I finally chose Sophisticated.

Everything about the makeup stall was perfect! There was eye jewels, mascara, eyebrow crayons (actual crayons and it is lovely to use), lip stains, cleansers, eye powders... everything you could possibly need!

And I'm so happy I now have this close to me as it makes finding cruelty free makeup easier.

I also picked up a Bamboozled lip stain and a eyebrow crayon which I talk about in my haul post!
After the makeup, I had a skincare consultation. I've always been slightly reluctant to change my skincare routine as my skin has just settled down as I have got older.
Don't Look at Me and
Catastrophe Cosmetic.

It used to be rather oily and break out a lot, but it has finally reached a level I'm happy with.

We sat in the greenhouse, which is at the back of the store, and discussed what she suggested for me. The greenhouse was beautifully quiet and lovely at the back of the shop, and a well-needed break.

They had various plants which are used in their products and they are attached to a machine which provides them with all the water they need.

We sat down and I was presented with a slate that had various products on it. It had a two face masks and a cleanser with a toner.

The whole experience of a skincare consultation was lovely and I learned about the rose which is used in Breath of Fresh Air.

I really liked Catastrophe Cosmetic on my skin and I think that will be the face mask to try next!

I also tried the Smugglers Soul body scrub and really enjoyed it, which is why I picked up some of the cream.

After the consultation, we looked around the shop for a while longer before I picked up a few things and finished my day at Manchester Arndale Lush.

The whole shop is amazing and I thoroughly encourage you to check them out and what beautiful products they are offering.

Thank you to the lovely staff for a wonderful tour and a great time, you'll be seeing me much more in the future!
